Galatians 1:10 (NKJV): “For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ.”

There is a pandemic of insecurity in our world today. People are desperately trying to find their identity so they can finally feel like they belong, and have purpose. The truth is, according to the Word of God, we only have one of two identities. We are either children of God, or children of the devil. For those who reject Jesus Christ and refuse to surrender their lives to Him, the Bible says they are of their father, the devil (John 8:44). However, those who choose to receive the grace of the finished work of the cross, and receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, have become the children of God! They have His own nature placed inside them by His Holy Spirit. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 says, “Do you not know that your body is the temple (the very sanctuary) of the Holy Spirit Who lives within you, Whom you have received [as a Gift] from God? You are not your own. You were bought with a price [purchased with a preciousness and paid for, made His own]. So then, honor God and bring glory to Him in your body.” Praise God! Because of the finished work of the cross we have taken on a whole new identity. We identify as God’s own children and live to represent Him in this world! We carry His Name, are filled with His Spirit and nature, and have been given His authority to reign as His kingdom children in this life! We live for no-one’s approval – excepting His, because we have found our identity and purpose in Him.
