A Witness to the Truth

by Dr Andre and Jenny Roebert
Thursday, 25 December 2025 | Reading taken from John 18:37b (NASB)

John 18:37b (NASB): “For this I have been born, and for this I have come into the world, to bear witness to the truth…”

Jesus came into the world to demonstrate the absolute truth of Who God really is, and what He really thinks about us. In John 6:38, He said, “For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me” (NKJV). In John 17:26, Jesus was about to complete His final mission on the earth – going to the cross. He told this to His Heavenly Father, “I have made Your Name known to them and revealed Your character and Your very Self, and I will continue to make [You] known, that the love which You have bestowed upon Me may be in them [felt in their hearts] and that I [Myself] may be in them.” (AMPC) The late Myles Munroe once said: “the greatest tragedy in life is not death, but life without a purpose”. We are challenged to not only remember the birth of Jesus this Christmas, but the reason why He was born. He not only came to show us the truth of Who His Father is, but to pass that responsibility on to us. We are to carry that truth inside us and demonstrate it to the world around us. Today: remember Who God really is, and how much He loves you. Let His love and Presence burn so brightly in you that nothing prevents or hinders you from fulfilling your purpose – to demonstrate the absolute truth of Who God really is and how much He really loves people – everywhere you go.

Completely Committed

Thursday, 25 December 2025 | Reading taken from Daniel 3:18 (NLT)

Daniel 3:18 (NLT): “But even if He doesn’t, we want to make it clear to you, Your Majesty, that we will never serve your gods or worship the gold statue you have set up.”

The call of Christ is one of unwavering commitment, even in the face of the most difficult circumstances. The three young Hebrew men, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were given a warning that if they didn’t conform, they would be thrown into a fiery furnace. Their statement didn’t negate their belief in God’s ability to save them, it demonstrated their allegiance to their God (a higher power than the king) and their refusal to disobey Him, regardless the cost. They were unwavering in their commitment to God. No matter the outcome, they would not be moved! We know God did save them, and as a result nations stood in awe of the Living God. Of course the three young men experienced an encounter that would stay with them for eternity and cause them to walk in supernatural protection, promotion and favour for the rest of their lives. God takes what the enemy intends for evil, and turns it for the good of those that love Him and are called to His purpose! Today, make a fresh decision to align yourself with God and be completely commitment to Him and His ways. Then get ready to see what He will do in and through you too!
