Romans 3:23 (AMPC): "Since all have sinned and are falling short of the honor and glory which God bestows and receives."
Christmas is a time to remember the birth of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. He is God's beloved Son who laid down His divine privileges to become a man, and live amongst His Own creation. What motivated the Son of God to vacate His heavenly home in exchange for a crib in a manger? Without Jesus being born, living a blameless and sinless life, and presenting Himself as a perfect sacrifice for the atonement of our sin - we would never be reconciled to our Heavenly Father. We would be suffering under the bondage and burden of sin. We would be subject to a life of never personally experiencing the Presence of God. No peace, joy, freedom, or victory would be ours. We would know no hope, have no place of comfort, and be consumed with dread and fear. But because of Jesus - we have been made righteous! We have been washed clean by the His perfect blood, and empowered by His powerful love. His Own victorious Spirit that raised Him from the dead now lives inside us! We have been transported into His kingdom, adopted into His royal family, and have become joint heirs with Him! Hallelujah! While we celebrate this Christmas, let's not forget the glorious purpose of our Saviour's birth. Jesus is our reason to celebrate! Through His life, death, and resurrection - He has become our hope of glory, as we are seated with Him in heavenly places! Yes, we have all fallen short of the glory of God - but because of Jesus we have every reason to celebrate our place in God right now!
