Psalm 37:23 (AMPC), “The steps of a [good] man are directed and established by the Lord when He delights in his way [and He busies Himself with his every step].”
God has blessed us with 5 natural senses to assess and operate appropriately in this natural realm. He has also given us common sense - to not just sit around but get up and busy ourselves with doing what we know is right. We have all been given natural talents and abilities and when we put them to practice, we become skilled in doing them. As we put our hands to what we know needs to be done, and remain faithful and diligent to do them, the Lord blesses us and adds His supernatural to our natural! This is where we begin to see His favour on all we do. He also gives us His wisdom and supernatural insight, where natural intellect is limited. Joshua served Moses faithfully, and when it was time to step up and lead, God blessed everything he did! Elisha was working with oxen when Elijah put his cloak upon him, and he was called into ministry. The point is, we are to be faithful and diligent to work in the area of our natural abilities and the Lord will add His supernatural ability to what we are already doing. What is important is for us to always be led by the Holy Spirit while we put our hands to work. His leading will always trump what we plan to do in the natural. When Paul was ministering in Asia Minor, it made perfect sense for him to continue sharing the Gospel in that region, so he planned to extend his trip into Asia. However, as he was making ready to go, the Lord redirected him to Macedonia. Paul obeyed the leading of the Holy Spirit and penetrated Europe with the Gospel instead of going to Asia. Paul was already doing the work when God stepped in to change direction. Common sense is essential, unless it contradicts what God says. Psalm 37:23 says the steps of a man, not his idleness, are directed and established by the Lord. While we are doing what is right, the Lord delights in what we are doing and inserts Himself into every step! Praise God - as you remain faithful and diligent in your natural work, you will see the Lord add His supernatural to it!
