Where to Turn to?

Psalm 62:8 (AMPC), “Trust in, lean on, rely on, and have confidence in Him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts before Him. God is a refuge for us (a fortress and a high tower)!”

The time our faith in God and the credibility of His Word is truly tested, is when we face difficulties. James said we are to consider it all joy when this happens! (James 1:2). So, what does passing the test of our faith look like, and what guarantees that we do? The answer to both questions lie in one Word: faithfulness! When we choose, as a lifestyle, to be faithful to give ourselves to meditating on the Word, and to continually fellowship with the Lord over His truth - the sweet flow of His presence that comes from our union and communion with Him, will constantly, without interruption, wash over our souls. As it washes, it sets any mindset that is not of God right, realigning it to His truth. In fact, that flow of life and peace and power, is the flow of God Himself. It comes up from our spirit-man where the Spirit of God dwells and prevents anything that is not of God to attach itself to us. A person who is truly living in faith, is a person who has the flow of God consistently flowing up from their spirits and over their thoughts and emotions, influencing every one of their choices. So, when trouble comes, that person, regardless of the trial, will not be moved or shaken concerning their trust in the Lord. That’s because they have already established what they believe in. When we find ourselves in a difficult place, it’s not the time to begin to question the faithfulness of God. Should tough times linger, and situations refuse to align with God’s promises, it’s not time to step back and reevaluate His trustworthiness. 2 Timothy 2:13 tells us He is faithful, and He will always remain faithful - faithful to His Word! If anything needs to be reevaluated, it will be our position of trust in, and obedience to God’s Word. Choosing to draw even closer to the Lord and His Word in the time of trouble, listening to His wisdom and following His promptings, will always result in us being led by Him into victory (2 Corinthians 2:14). When we determine to remain faithful to, “Trust in, lean on, rely on, and have confidence in Him at all times…”, turning to the Lord in times of trouble will be second nature to us. As a result - we will see His salvation in every situation, at all times - because we consistently trust in His faithfulness.
