Matthew 28:6 (TPT), “He isn’t here—He has risen victoriously, just as He said! Come inside the tomb and see the place where our Lord was lying.”
Jesus is alive! When the two Mary’s came to visit the tomb where Jesus was buried, the Bible says there was a violent earthquake as a mighty angel came from heaven, rolled the stone that was at the entrance to the tomb away, and sat on it! It says, “Lightning flashed around him and his robe was dazzling white!” The two women weren’t the only ones that saw him. The guards that were stationed there saw him too and were terrified! They shook with fear and literally fainted on the spot! The Bible says they were lying motionless like dead men! Obviously, both Mary’s were left breathless and terrified, until the angel told them not to be afraid, and that he knew they were looking for Jesus. Then he invited them to take a look inside the tomb to see for themselves that Jesus was no longer there - He was not dead, but very much alive - just as He said He would be! Praise God! We know exactly what happened to Jesus while He was lying, lifeless in that tomb! The power of God exploded in that tomb, reconnecting Jesus’ Spirit with His dead body. It flooded His corpse with resurrection life, and He got up, and walked right out! His resurrected body didn’t need the large stone to be rolled away. The Bible says that while the Marys rushed to go tell the disciples what they heard and saw, Jesus suddenly appeared to them on the way. As we can well imagine, they fell at His feet and worshipped Him. Do you know what the first words Jesus spoke to them were? He told them to rejoice! Some translations say, “All Hail!” in the Greek, it translates to “All Joy!” It literally means a greeting that is full of ecstatic joy! In His very next breath, Jesus told them to, “Throw off all your fears…” (Matthew 28:10 TPT). Praise God! This is exactly what our response should be in knowing that our resurrected Jesus is as alive today as He was the moment He walked out that tomb and greeted the two Marys! His message is exactly the same to us as it was to them! “Rejoice! Throw off your fears! Because just as I am alive and victorious - so are you in Me!” Praise God! Let His resurrection life flow full and powerfully in you as you praise His Name today!
