Matthew 15:26 (NKJV), “But He answered and said, “It is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs.”

Jesus made this strong statement to a woman that came to ask Him to heal her daughter. He was telling her that she had no right to ask for healing, since she wasn’t Jewish. His mission was to bring salvation to the Jews first, He was to reveal the heart of God to them, to reconcile them back to God. Of course, God knew His own people would end up rejecting Jesus as their Messiah, which opened the way for the Gentiles to hear the Gospel and respond to it. But that time had not yet come. This woman, in her desperation was ‘jumping the gun’ so to speak. Even though God’s own people didn’t recognize Him, she did, and she was not taking, “No” for an answer. Wisely and remarkably, this woman humbled herself and pleaded for mercy instead of trying to demand her rights. She understood she didn’t have any in this regard. Of course, Jesus recognized her faith in Him and had mercy on her. She returned home to find her daughter healed. It’s that simple. She received based on Jesus. Today, many people wonder if God still heals today, and if so, how to receive that healing. Others believe He does heal but are disappointed for believing and not seeing any results. The truth is, God does want all people to be well and whole! In fact, according to 1 Peter 2:24, by the stripes of Jesus, we were healed! Hallelujah! That means we are not the sick trying to get healed, we are the healed, co-operating with the Healer and His healing power within us, to live and remain in that state of being healed. As we focus on that power more than on our physical symptoms, and believe it is working in our bodies as we direct its flow with our words of faith - refusing to think, believe, speak, or behave contrary to that truth - we will begin to see the results! Healing is yours because of what Jesus has done - so focus only on that and those symptoms will lose their power as you divert your attention off of them and onto the power of God that’s in you right now!
