God's Will is the Right Flow

Isaiah 48:18 (NLT), “Oh, that you had listened to my commands! Then you would have had peace flowing like a gentle river and righteousness rolling over you like waves in the sea.”

Did you know that there is a flow of the life and nature of God that comes directly from His Spirit into our own, and influences every area of our lives - if we allow it to? In order to experience the wonderful things of God’s kingdom, we must learn to tap into the supply He has made readily available for us. In the Old Testament, Moses explained how God’s people could live in the abundant blessing and prosperity of God if they lived by all the rules and regulations of the law. After the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus, Paul and the other apostles had to keep teaching and reminding the new converts, who had previously lived under the old Mosaic law, that there was a whole new way to receive the flow of God’s abundant blessing. It comes by faith and not works! Of course, it all sounded too good to be true for them, but Paul explained in Romans 14:17 that God’s kingdom was not a matter of rules about food and drink, but the realm of the Holy Spirit, filled with righteousness, peace, and joy. He explained that since the Holy Spirit now lived within them, they could partake of heaven’s flow of eternal life, because they had been made righteous by His shed blood. Now the peace and joy of God could flow like a river inside of them. In this world we will never obtain a flow of peace and joy from circumstances. However, when we choose to place our attention on the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit and begin to acknowledge every good thing that flows to us from Him, because we are in Christ Jesus - our faith is effective, and we begin to experience the reality of that flow! (Philemon 1:6). The quickest and most effective way to get our attention on the realm of the Spirit is to give thanks to the Lord. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 says, “in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” Giving thanks keeps our attention on the Lord and activates our faith for the supply of heaven to flow like a river inside of us.  Choose the right flow today, it’s God’s will for you!
