Direct the Power

Luke 10:19 (NKJV), “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”

Did you know that the power of God is not locked up in heaven and unattainable for us to access. Ephesians 1:19 says, “And [so that you can know and understand] what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power in and for us who believe, as demonstrated in the working of His mighty strength…” For the born-again child of God, who has received the baptism of the Holy Spirit - God’s power to heal, deliver, and do the mighty, supernatural works of God is in us! In John 14:17, Jesus tells us that His Holy Spirit dwells in us and is constantly with us - and wherever He is, His power is too! 1 Corinthians 3:16 says, “Do you not discern and understand that you [the whole church at Corinth] are God’s temple (His sanctuary), and that God’s Spirit has His permanent dwelling in you [to be at home in you, collectively as a church and also individually]?” Before we were born again, our sin nature could not house the Presence of God. That’s because God is holy, and a sinful nature is not compatible with the holiness of God. However, when we accepted Jesus as Lord and Saviour of our lives - that nature to sin died and the Holy Spirit created a brand-new righteous nature in us! (1 John 1:9 and Romans 6:6). Then, according to 1 Corinthians 6:17-20, He took possession of that nature - by filling it with Himself! The question is: How do we get that power to flow towards our need? We direct it with our words of faith!  As we believe in our hearts and speak what we believe, God’s power flows to wherever we direct it. In 1 Corinthians 2:4-5, we are told to believe in the power of God. So, keep acknowledging that God’s power is in you, then direct that power to flow into your need. The Word of God you declare will profit you when you mix faith with your words! (Hebrews 4:2). Keep meditating on what God’s Word says about His power in and for you, believe and trust in that power, and direct it with your words - this is God’s will for you, and it’s what Jesus gave you the authority to do! Let that power - that’s in you - flow unhindered today!
