Confidence to Receive Help

Hebrews 4:16 (AMPC), “Let us then fearlessly and confidently and boldly draw near to the throne of grace…, that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find grace to help in good time for every need [appropriate help and well-timed help, coming just when we need it].”

The pattern of the temple in the Old Testament holds relevance to the way we approach the Lord in our new covenant today. For example, before entering into the place of meeting with Him, the blood of an animal had to be shed. In our new covenant, we must constantly remind ourselves each time we draw near, that Jesus was worthy to take upon Himself our unworthiness so we can approach the Father, being aware of our position of being in right standing before Him. The moment we disregard that and try approach the Lord based on our own righteousness, we insult what He suffered and gained for us on the cross. As much as we don’t come to Him on the bases of our own righteousness, we don’t approach Him with a sin consciousness either; where we feel unworthy to meet Him face to face. His Word says we can come boldly and draw near not just to the throne room, but to the throne - where He is waiting, eagerly anticipating us. He longs to see us give our burdens to Him, so that He can give us His rest (Matthew 11:28). He promises that in His Presence He will show us the right plan forward. Psalm 16:11 says, “You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” Today, do you need to be rid of a burden of worry? Is something troubling your mind and weighing heavily on your soul? Are you needing God’s wisdom and perspective to lead you out of a situation that has just got you perplexed, and you can’t see your way out? Respond to His invitation right now. Come fearlessly and confidently before the Lord, because Jesus is your righteousness. Draw close to His throne, to see Him face to face. And give Him your burden, ask Him for His help and His wisdom, and He will answer you, and give you what you need. Psalm 55:22 says, “Cast your burden on the Lord [releasing the weight of it] and He will sustain you; He will never allow the [consistently] righteous to be moved (made to slip, fall, or fail).”. This is His promise to you right now, so don’t delay, come now!
