Psalm 103:5 (NKJV), “Who satisfies your mouth with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.”
The place your life is in today has much to do with what you have believed in your heart and spoken with your mouth up to this point. It’s true that things we had nothing to do with can present themselves uninvited, but even then, our response to them will have a great influence on how they impact us. Proverbs 3:21 says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” What we say is evidence of what we have been thinking about, and according to the Word, we will have what we say! Too often people dwell on past failures and experiences where they were disappointed, offended or hurt. These thought patterns certainly affect their outlook on life and create mistrust and anxiety towards things in the future. God instructs us to cast every care on Him, so He can take care of us. Then we are to leave those cares with Him in exchange for His truth, peace and joy. As we fill our minds with the truth of God’s Word and choose His way of thinking above our own, our mouths will be filled with words that are good and full of faith. These words of faith release a flow of life, fresh hope, and a renewed inner strength within us. The Apostle Paul said that he made a decision to leave the former failures and tragedies behind him, and to, “... press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.” There is a whole new life of freedom from fear and the consequences of our past for us to experience in Christ Jesus, through faith. As we choose to let go of our past disappointments, we are able to enjoy this new life. Speaking words that align with our new nature in Christ and all the good things we have because we are in Him - causes our faith to become effective and the flow of God to dominate our lives from the inside out! So, keep your mind fixed on God’s thoughts and your words full of His truth, and His life will renew your strength to soar in life - full of victory and faith!
