1 Corinthians 11:30 (NKJV): “For this reason many are weak and sick among you, and many sleep.”

The Bible tells us that Christ has redeemed us from the curse (Galatians 3:13). Which means we do not have to accept sickness or disease in our bodies. When we begin to feel the symptoms of illness, we can exercise the authority we have in Christ and refuse to give it permission to attack us. Even with this being so, many Christians still battle to get victory over their health. 1 Corinthians 11:29 explains that one reason Christians might not be walking in Devine health, is by not properly discerning the Lord’s body. That means they do not have the revelation that Jesus’ stripes were for our healing. 1 Peter 2:24 says, “who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.”. Jesus paid the price for our healing - there is no legal right for sickness to attack our bodies. Another way Christians may be struggling to walk in health, is by not properly discerning the spiritual body of Christ - which is the church. How we treat other believers matters. When we are not walking in God’s love towards others, we cannot expect to walk in His divine health either. In order to receive and walk in the reality of any promise from the Word, or any benefit we have through the finished work of the cross, we need faith. Faith cannot be effective outside of God’s love been present in our lives (Galatians 5:6). God’s love is not a feeling, it is a powerful force that never weakens or fails. 1 Corinthians 13:4-5 says, “Love endures long and is patient and kind; love never is envious nor boils over with jealousy, is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display itself haughtily. It is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride); it is not rude (unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly. Love (God’s love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong].” Ask the Holy Spirit to flood your heart with His love today, so you can love others as He does. This way you will properly discern the Lord’s body, and be in good health, because God wants you well.
