Romans 7:25 (TPT), “I give all my thanks to God, for His mighty power has finally provided a way out through our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One! So if left to myself, the flesh is aligned with the law of sin, but now my renewed mind is fixed on and submitted to God’s righteous principles.”
As we keep our minds renewed to the truth of our new identity in Christ, the release of God’s power to keep us walking in righteousness, peace and the joy of the Holy Ghost is intensified in our lives! Galatians 5:17 speaks of the struggle we face when our minds are not renewed to, or constantly fixed on, who we really are in Christ: “For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish.” The truth is, we no longer have the nature to sin. That was our old nature that died with Jesus, on the cross. Now we have been given a new nature that loves righteousness and hates wickedness. Philippians 2:13 says we are able to live right through the indwelling power of God! “[Not in your own strength] for it is God Who is all the while effectually at work in you [energizing and creating in you the power and desire], both to will and to work for His good pleasure and satisfaction and delight.” The more attention we give to all that Jesus has won for us - and our new lives in Him, the less the things of this world have any attraction for us! They simply cannot compare to the overwhelmingly wonderful things we can experience now that we are in Christ. Pursuing the things we can have and enjoy in the spirit will loosen the hold this world has on us. There is simply no competition once we taste of our life in Christ Jesus. If you are wanting a life that is free from condemnation and the tug of war between wanting to do what is right and what is wrong - then give your full attention to who you really are in Christ and the full benefits you have because you are in Him.
