Stable And Fixed

Psalm 91:1 (AMPC), “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand].”

As children of God, we are meant to nurture a lifestyle of being consistently aware of the abiding Presence of the Holy Spirit within us. As we remain sensitive to His voice and yield to His leading, we become an extension of Him in this world. 2 Corinthians 2:14 says the fragrance of knowing God is evident on us and is diffused wherever we go. There is unmistakable evidence that we know God intimately in the way we carry ourselves. What does that evidence look like? In all circumstances we are confident, joyful and thankful. In Acts 4:13, Peter and John carried that evidence. When the Jewish leaders interrogated them, they couldn’t argue the evidence that proved these men knew Jesus personally! “Now when they saw the boldness and unfettered eloquence of Peter and John and perceived that they were unlearned and untrained in the schools [common men with no educational advantages], they marveled; and they recognized that they had been with Jesus.” When we remain in constant fellowship with the Lord, delighting in and obeying His Word, and trusting Him in all things; we will remain stable and fixed at all times. God’s Word keeps us at an even keel. It sets perimeters for our thought life, keeping us in the truth. This way, no matter what we face, we will not be moved or shaken. Instead, we will confidently and gratefully trust in what the Word says about us. In verse 2 of Psalm 91, it says, “I will say of the Lord, He is my Refuge and my Fortress, my God; on Him I lean and rely, and in Him I [confidently] trust!” We don’t just believe He is our refuge; we declare He is! As we intentionally speak out what the Word says, from the conviction of our hearts, we will live in the reality of that truth! Remain connected to Jesus, keep His Word alive in your heart and your mouth, and you will be unshakable in the time of trouble. You will be a living testimony of what it is to truly know Him in this world.
