John 17:3 (NKJV), “And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.”

In the book of Ephesians, we are taught that God saw us re-created in Christ before the foundation of the world and had pre-planned paths for us to walk in, and Psalms 139 says every day of our lives has been recorded in heaven. So, the Lord most certainly has a plan concerning us, a life that is good and filled with purpose, a life that sees us inseparably connected to Him. Sin was the factor that disrupted the outflowing of that plan. Romans 5:17 tells us that through one man (Adam) death reigned for all. We were all sentenced to an eternity separate from knowing God. That was the consequence of sin. It caused mankind’s inseparable connection to inherently know God and be one spirit with Him to be severed. But thank God for His redemptive plan! Through the finished work of the cross, Jesus became the sacrifice that paid the penalty for that sin and completely reversed its effects on mankind, forever! The blood of Jesus has bought back our birthright to know God and be one with Him again! We can now be reconciled to the Father, through Jesus, His Son! 1 Corinthians 6:17 says that since we are united to Christ, we are one spirit with Him! Ephesians 1:17-23 explains that through the Holy Spirit, we can have revelation and insight into who we are, what we can have, and all we can do now that we are in Christ. All of this is made real to us the more we gain knowledge of Who Jesus is through His Word and His indwelling Spirit! The Holy Spirit is truth, and He reveals everything there is to know about Jesus, and Jesus reveals all there is to know about the Father (Matthew 11:17; John 16:13-15). Spend time in the Word today, trusting the Holy Spirit to reveal the Person of Jesus to you. Enjoy every moment of getting to know Him more, delighting in Him as He manifests Himself to you! This is a privilege reserved for His children because we are born of Him! Knowing Him is your inheritance!
