Proverbs 1:33 (AMPC), “But whosoever hearkens to Me [Wisdom] shall dwell securely and in confident trust and shall be quiet, without fear or dread of evil.”
The Word of God urges us to enter a place of confident trust in the Lord, where faith dominates, and all fear is dispelled. How do we reach this place of confident trust, especially when we live in a world where turmoil and uncertainty abound? We enter it by placing our full attention on God’s Word. As we give ourselves to the truth and wisdom of the scriptures, we are invited to know and experience God Himself. As we take in His truth, and our minds are renewed to it, the flow of God’s peace, faith, and life springs up from our re-born spirits and floods our souls! It washes over our minds ridding us of any anxious, worrying thoughts that close the door to God’s flow of power in our lives. 2 Timothy 1:7 calls fear a destructive spirit that has no place being in the life of a believer. We refuse and resist fear by filling our minds with the truth of who we are in Christ Jesus, and the consistent position of victory we have because we are seated with Him in heavenly places, far above every rule and dominion and wicked principality (Ephesians 1:20-23; 2:5-6). God’s Word tells us that we have been given a spirit of love, power, and a sound, well-balanced mind! The phrase well-balanced, means our thoughts are perfectly aligned to God’s Word! This is what Paul spoke about in 1 Corinthians 2:16 where he said, “… we have the mind of Christ (the Messiah) and do hold the thoughts (feelings and purposes) of His heart.” As we diligently keep our minds aligned to the wisdom of God’s Word, where His truth becomes more than just intellectual knowledge, but the substance of what we truly believe - it will come alive inside us and produce God’s kingdom flow in us! A flow of His righteousness, peace and the joy of the Holy Ghost! This flow keeps us in that confident trust, that place of rest and victory!
