Matthew 6:6 (NKJV), “But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.”

There is a secret place, every believer can go to, in the realm of the spirit - to commune with the Father and receive whatever is needed to meet our need. It is a place where heavenly transactions take place, where no doubt or unbelief can exist, only faith. Its where heartfelt fervency carries the expectation of a favourable answer. Hebrews 11:6 says, “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” This secret place is mentioned in Psalms 91:1 that describes a place we are able to dwell in, it also describes who we find while we are there: “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand].” We have an intimate audience of one - the Almighty God Himself - in this secret place. James 4:8 says, “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you…” Now what words could we possible utter when we are there, in His awesome presence? The Word says we have something to say: Psalms 91:2 says, “I will say of the Lord, He is my Refuge and my Fortress, my God; on Him I lean and rely, and in Him I [confidently] trust!” Praise God! When we are in the secret place, our words declare what we believe with our hearts - our fully persuaded, confident trust in the Lord! Once we have done that, we can hear His heart concerning the things we need answers for. There may be times we are unsure of God’s specific word concerning an issue, in which case, we have the privilege to hear from His Spirit exactly what to pray. Romans 8:26 says, “Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.” We can pray in the Holy Spirit, until He reveals the scripture and will of God concerning what we need an answer for. Praying His answer from the secret place, releases the power of God to accomplish His will. Enjoy this privilege as you put into practice, praying in the secret place, today.
