Acts 6:8 (NKJV), “And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and signs among the people.”

In Acts 6:1-8, we read how the church had grown so rapidly that it was necessary to appoint leaders to manage the daily operational work of taking care of distributing food to the widows. Seven men were appointed to oversee and get the job done. The Bible says they were honest men who were full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom. However, one man out of the seven stood out from the rest. The Bible says Stephen wasn’t just full of the Holy Ghost, he was full of faith and power, and as a result, did great wonders and signs among the people. Now we know that all the men who were full of the Holy Ghost were full of power too. Wherever the Holy Spirit is, His power is present, because you cannot separate Him from His power. The difference is Stephen was full of faith. It was His faith in the power that caused it to bring results. We know this is true because in Paul’s prayer for all believers, he prays that we would have a personal revelation of the power of God that is at work within us and is constantly flowing in our direction - when we believe! Ephesians 1:19 says, “And [so that you can know and understand] what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power in and for us who believe, as demonstrated in the working of His mighty strength,”. When we mix our faith with what God’s Word says about us, and what we have and can do, because we are in Christ - we activate the ‘immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power’ that is in and for us - to produce exactly what His Word has promised! We see this very same truth taught in Mark 16:17-18, “And these attesting signs will accompany those who believe; in My name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new languages; They will pick up serpents; and [even] if they drink anything deadly, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will get well.” The power of God is present in us and around us and is constantly moving towards us - ready to produce everything God’s Word has promised us. All we need to do to see it manifest and produce results, is our faith! Dare to believe God’s Word - you have the faith to manifest the His power today!
