James 5:16 (AMPC), “…The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].”
The Bible tells us that God’s Spirit is omnipresent. Jeremiah 23:23-24 says, “‘Am I a God who is only close at hand?’ says the LORD. ‘No, I am far away at the same time. Can anyone hide from Me in a secret place? Am I not everywhere in all the heavens and earth?’” (NLT). Now we know that wherever the Spirit of God is, His power is present too. Just because His presence and power are present, however, they are not always manifest. Which is why God, in His Word, gives us a very effective way to activate both His presence and power to move on our behalf. And it’s done through prayer. Not just any prayer. It’s the prayer of faith that causes the power of God to manifest and the prayer of thanksgiving that keep that power activated until the answer becomes a reality in the natural realm. One of the greatest hindrances to our prayers been effective is our lack of confidence. Believers don’t have a problem with knowing God can answer prayer, they just aren’t always convinced it’s His will to answer them, concerning their particular need. James says it’s the prayer of a righteous man that causes the power of God to be activated when we pray. According to Romans 3:22, everyone who is born-again is the righteousness of God, in Christ Jesus. We have been made righteous through the blood and redemption of Jesus! Secondly, 2 Corinthians 1:20 says, “For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.” If God’s Word promises it, we have already been given the “Yes” to have it! Matthew 18:19 says, “Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.” Remember, we have a good Father who has promised to not withhold any good thing from His children, who walk uprightly before Him. Once we have settled this truth in our understanding, we will be able to pray, and believe with unhindered faith, for everything His Word has promised us.
