Ephesians 2:12 (NKJV), “that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world.”
As we take a look at what is currently happening in the world around us, it’s easy to detect the hopelessness in people everywhere. However, for the child of God, who understands what he has been given through Christ and His precious indwelling Holy Spirit, there is a real hope! In fact, the Bible says “Christ in us” is our hope (1 Timothy 1:1). Colossians 1:27 says, “To them (His saints) God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.” We may be in a fallen world that is spiraling into chaos and destruction, but because of Jesus, we have been given the power to overcome everything we will face here. The truth is this is not our home. This world is not our final destination. However, while we are here, we have the privilege of intimately knowing God and have His Presence and power alive on the inside of us. We have His faith to walk in the reality of every covenant promise He has made concerning us. We have His Name that gives us His authority to declare His will to be done on the earth. We are here on assignment - His assignment - to complete what He started when He was here on earth. We are to enforce the devil’s defeat over people’s lives and extend the influence of the kingdom of heaven wherever we go! Ephesians 1:18 says we are to know the hope of His calling. That means, His (Jesus) calling has become ours until He comes to fetch us. Praise God, along with His calling comes the power and ability to get the job done! Ephesians 1:19-23 describes that we have been given the riches of His glorious inheritance, in fact that inheritance is in us right now! Because we are in Christ Jesus, we have already been given everything we need to carry out His calling. If you ever want to know what you have already been given in Christ, spend time meditating on the books of Romans through Philemon. You will find it to be a rich treasure chest for sure! Understand today, you have a glorious hope that this world is longing to know. Make sure you are aware of it so that you can live in it and introduce others to it too! Christ in you is your hope of glory!
