Jesus is The Door

John 10:9 (NKJV), “I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.”

Jesus is the only way to the Father. There is no other way for man to be saved. Acts 4:12 says, “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Only Jesus, the Son of God, was worthy to take our sin upon Himself so that we could be made righteous and be reconciled to the Father. 1 Timothy 2:5 says, “For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus,”. The wonderful truth is that in receiving Jesus as personal Lord and Saviour, we don’t just gain access into heaven when our physical bodies die. Through Him, we gain access into everything His kingdom offers us, here and now. Ephesians 2:18 says, “For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.” This means that through our relationship with the indwelling Holy Spirit, we are able to know the will and the ways of our Heavenly Father and become intimately acquainted with Him. As we spend time in His Word and in prayer with the Holy Spirit, He reveals the Father’s plan and purpose for our lives. 1 Corinthians 2:9-10 says these plans are more wonderful than we could imagine with our own, natural minds: “But as it is written: ‘Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.’ But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.” God has not kept His thoughts and will concerning us hidden from us - He has kept them hidden for us. By turning our attention and affection onto Him, and waiting on Him, He reveals them to us. He may not reveal the whole plan, or even every detail of it. However, He will reveal the general direction, and the specifics we need to know to walk in His perfect plan, one day at a time. Jesus, through His Holy Spirit will faithfully lead us into close fellowship with Himself. He will lead us to the places in His Word where we can receive rich nourishment for our spirits, to begin to dominate our flesh. He will also lead us into places where we will be a blessing to others and extend His kingdom effectively and efficiently! Jesus is the door to a good and fulfilled life.
