1 Kings 3:14 (NKJV), “And if you will go My way, keep My statutes and My commandments as your father David did, then I will lengthen your days.”
The cross reference to the phrase “lengthen your days”, is Psalm 139:16, which says, “With long life I will satisfy him, And show him My salvation.” When we take the time and effort to seek the Lord and know His will for our daily lives, even though we will face opposition to it, we will not struggle through it. That’s because in waiting on the Lord for His Divine counsel, each day, brings with it the supernatural wisdom, strength and peace to fulfil it. Ephesians 2:10 says we were created in Christ so that we would walk in His predestined plan for our lives, “[taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].” (AMPC). God took careful time to plan for our individual lives to be full of His goodness, in spite of the adversity along the way. He already took into account the opposition we would face, and designed paths that would take us above the enemy’s plans for us to stumble and struggle. As we take the time to meditate on the Word of God, feeding our minds and spirits with His truth, it will transform our lives, one truth at a time. We will begin to become detached to the world’s way of thinking and reasoning, and actively connected to God’s ways instead. It’s His ways that keep us walking in the path of righteousness. Why is this so crucial? Because the Word says that righteousness is the scepter of God’s kingdom. Everything that is available in the kingdom of God is available to those who walk uprightly before Him! When you obey even one truth made alive to you from God’s Word, you will have the confident faith to believe Him for what His Word has promised you. All of heaven will back you because you have chosen to seek the Lord and walk in the light of His path for your life. So, seek the Lord, feed on His Word to know His will for you today, then walk in that truth and see how His goodness and mercy will surround you, leading you in the life He has for you - the life that is well worth living!
