Isaiah 30:21 (NKJV), “Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, ‘This is the way, walk in it,’ Whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left.”
In John 10, Jesus said that He is the Good Shepherd, and that His sheep know Him and follow His voice. When Joshua, the mighty man of valor, stepped into the role of leading the entire nation of Israel into their promised land, he was completely dependent on hearing and obeying the Word of the Lord. Joshua 1:7 says, “Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go.” God’s spoken voice will never contradict His written Word. Whether we are the seemingly least or greatest in His kingdom, we all have been given the privilege of recognizing His voice and being led into His perfect will for us. Every moment of every day, every time we have a decision to make, God will speak to us and show us things to come. John 16:13 says, “However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.” So many problems and struggles in our everyday lives can be avoided, if we would just take the time to quieten our thoughts, and open our hearts, to hear from the Lord. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” The Lord never intended for us to try get through this life on our own. He desires to be intimately involved in every decision, speaking clearly which way to go, at every turn, directing every step. Jeremiah 33:3 says, “Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.” The only thing required to hear God’s voice, is faith. So come before Him, trust Him to speak into your heart, as you hear His wisdom for you today.
