2 Corinthians 3:18 (AMPC), “And all of us, as with unveiled face, [because we] continued to behold [in the Word of God] as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are constantly being transfigured into His very own image in ever increasing splendor and from one degree of glory to another; [for this comes] from the Lord [Who is] the Spirit.”
When we are born again and begin to align our thoughts with the Word of God, our lives become transformed into something new! We become far more than who we were before our minds were transformed! That’s because the reality of who the Holy Spirit made us to be on the inside is made clear to our understanding. 2 Corinthians 5:17 explains that our spirits become brand new the moment we become born-again. Our old, sinful nature (of our spirit-man) completely passed away. Romans 6:2-11 explains that it died with Christ, when He died on the cross. Since there is no dimension of time or space in God, when we hear the Gospel and receive Jesus as our Redeemer and make Him the Lord and Saviour of our lives - in an instant - we are transported in the realm of the spirit to the cross. That old nature that was stained with sin and under the curse of death and eternal separation from God - was nailed to the cross with Jesus. As He died, our sinful nature died with Him. And as God’s Holy Spirit released His resurrection power in Jesus, that resurrection power entered us too! Just as He was raised to life, we were raised to life in Him too! Now we have a completely new spirit nature. We have taken on His Own, righteous nature! This is the good news of the Gospel! Our spirit-man has taken on the image and likeness of Jesus Christ! His Spirit has become one with our spirit (1 Corinthians 6:17). This is the reality of who we are now in Christ Jesus: 1 John 4:17 says, “… as He is, so are we in this world.” As you meditate on this marvelous truth today, understand - through the redemptive work of the cross, you have been made one with God Himself. This truth will cause your mind, your emotions, and your will to become influenced by the new man inside you! Yield to the leading of the indwelling Holy Spirit and live out the transformed life He has given you.
