Ephesians 2:8 (NKJV), “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,”
Did you know that faith is a divine nature and attribute of God! It is a spiritual force that was given to us by God. Just as much as our salvation is a gift from God, so is the measure of faith He gave us! Romans 12:3 says, “…God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.” When we surrendered our lives to Jesus, we couldn’t believe in Him on our own. We became born-again through the faith He gave us! Human faith is limited and based on our 5 senses. Believing to get saved is something we cannot see or feel in the natural, it requires supernatural faith to believe that an unseen God sent His Son to die for our sins, and that He has cleansed us from all unrighteousness. How did this gift of faith come to us? Someone shared the truth of God’s Word with us. That truth contained God’s faith. When we heard the Word, we received it into our hearts and the faith contained in that Word caused us to believe and receive our salvation! Doesn’t Romans 10:17 say, “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God”? Another wonderful truth about God’s faith, is that it is always present within us! Galatians 5:22-23 lists the characteristics of God’s nature that reside in our re-born spirits. Love, peace, joy, patience, kindness, goodness, self-control, gentleness and faith are all supernatural qualities that form part of our re-born spirit nature. We just need to know how to appropriate the supernatural force of faith that is inside us, to release His flow from within us. This has everything to do with what we focus our attention on. When we choose to only believe and put our trust in God’s Word, regardless of what we see in the natural world, we shut down unbelief and start acting on our faith. Remember, faith works by love. When we spend time focusing on God’s love for us and delighting ourselves in Him, instead of thinking about the problem, faith in God’s good nature will dominate any doubt and unbelief. In fact, they will not be able to move us. That’s because God’s love is perfect, and it casts out all fear! Choose to delight yourself in the Lord today, focus on His Word, and His faith will rise up in you and bring to you what has been yours all along.
