Ecclesiastes 4:5 (NLT), “Fools fold their idle hands, leading them to ruin.”
Everyone wants to experience a prosperous life. Sadly, many don’t, because they are unwilling to do what it takes to get there. Proverbs 6:10-11 says, “A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest, and poverty will come upon you like a robber, and want like an armed man.” Laziness results in poverty and lack. However, God desires to see us prosper and to experience a good life, that’s worth living! When we open up the Word and discover its life-principles, being careful to put them into practice - prosperity and good success will be the result! Psalm 1 and Joshua 1:7-8 declare this to be God’s ‘Secret to Success”. Blessing and favour always flow where His Word is obeyed. We see in the life of Isaac, how he obeyed God and even in the time of drought, reaped a 100-fold harvest from the seed he had sown. That ground was so dry and un-fertile, yet obedience to God, caused what was impossible to become possible! God prospered Isaac so much, he become the most powerful man in the nation. In the same way that God operated in the confines of His Word with Isaac, He works with us too. When we become diligent to know God and His ways, through His Word, and obey what He instructs – Deuteronomy 30:9 becomes our reality: “And the Lord your God will make you abundantly prosperous in every work of your hand”. Being diligent concerning the things of the Spirit will cause us to become resilient and unmovable when opposition comes. It keeps us anchored to our hope and rooted in the truth. The Word says that the Lord rewards the diligent! Decide to keep your hands from being idle - give yourself consistently and wholeheartedly to the things of God, and just like Isaac, the reward of the diligent will be seen on you!
