Deuteronomy 32:3-4 (NIV), “I will proclaim the name of the LORD. Oh, praise the greatness of our God! He is the Rock, His works are perfect, and all His ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is He.”
 

Choice is a commodity we all possess. God has given every man the freedom to choose. It’s liberating just to know our free will is something neither man nor the enemy can take from us! When we choose God, it’s by our own free will. When we choose to praise Him, it’s a deliberate act of our will to do so. An act that is based on our desire to please Him. It might take a bit of practice, training our will to praise God on the basis of who He is, and not on the basis of our current circumstances or feelings. Which is why the Word says we are to worship Him in spirit and truth - not from our carnal nature that is dominated by our emotions, but based on the truth of what His Word says. True praise is extremely powerful, it silences our enemy and disables his plans concerning us. It also places our attention on the power of God, and His willingness and ability to pull us out of trouble and lead us into overwhelming victory! Which is why praise is not a mere suggestion, or something we only do when we feel like it. The Word is brimming with examples of what true praise looks like, and the precious Holy Spirit is ever ready to teach us. Remember Paul and Silas? They were stripped, beaten and chained in prison. And yet, they chose to praise God with all their hearts! They were more aware of the goodness and faithfulness of their God than their current surroundings! As a result, the power of God was manifest, their shackles fell open, and the prison doors swung wide! Never underestimate the power of intentional praise - it’s not fickle or weak! No matter how hopeless your world may seem - your choice to praise will bring a response from God that will shake off every burden and break every bondage! Praise God today - you have the freedom to choose it!
