Proverbs 23:7 (NKJ), “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he…”
When we are struggling in any arena of life, even if we are facing challenges we may have never faced before, our first defense is to take control of our thought-life. Since we know the devil is a defeated foe, his only way of gaining access to harm us, is through our thought life. The Bible describes his harassing thoughts and lies as fiery darts. If we are not paying attention to our thoughts, those darts can catch our whole mindset alight with negativity, dread, fear, hopelessness and defeat. What matters is not the lying thoughts being launched at us, it’s our response to them. If we have been diligent to spend time meditating on the truth of God’s Word, our minds will be well aware of what thoughts align with the nature and spirit of the Word. Romans 12:2 tells us the Word of God has the power to transform our way of thinking to align with God’s way of thinking, as we renew our minds to its truth. A renewed mind has the ability to immediately recognize which thoughts are fiery darts from the enemy, so we can swiftly deal with them by rejecting and replacing them with truth. If you are wanting to see change in any area of your life, to see it reflect what the Word of God says it should be reflecting, begin taking control of your thoughts. Change always begins with our minds being single focused and fixed on the Word, which is the mind and will of God for us. Faith is a spiritual force that has the power to bring what is in the realm of the spirit, into our natural lives. Now, faith does not exist in the natural mind, it lives in the mind of Christ, which is in our re-born spirits! It flows up from our spirits as we consistently meditate on God’s word and begin speaking in line with its truth. As we speak faith-filled words over our circumstances - everything changes to align with those words of faith. Everything that was won for us through the finished work of the cross - health, prosperity, joy, peace, can all be ours when we discipline our minds to remain renewed to the Word of God, and our words to speak its truth.
