Matthew 16:19 (NLT), “And I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven. Whatever you forbid on earth will be forbidden in heaven, and whatever you permit on earth will be permitted in heaven.”
Jesus gave us keys to unlock God’s governmental way of operation on this earth. This is in fact a delegated authority given to us. Whatever we forbid or permit on earth, heaven will back us up on. We exercise this authority on behalf of heaven! Now, if we are not purposefully exercising this authority, heaven has nothing to back us up with. Which is why we cannot remain silent or passive in our walk of faith. As we become skilled at hearing and following the voice and prompting of the indwelling Holy Spirit, we speak out whatever He tells us to, knowing it’s aligned to His will, and all of heaven will back up what we say. If we as believers don’t exercise our authority by using the keys of the kingdom to enforce God’s kingdom ways, the enemy will enforce his own kingdom ways instead. When it comes to taking territory in the spirit realm over anything here on earth - there is never a void. While we are submitted and committed to our life in Christ, we are expected to forbid what is not representing His kingdom and to enforce His own in its place. This begins in our own lives. When we are actively obeying God’s financial principles but face lack, we are to speak God’s Word over our finances. We are to say, “Lack be gone in Jesus Name, all my needs are met according to God’s riches in glory, by Christ Jesus!” (Philippians 4:19). When our bodies show symptoms of pain or sickness, we are to say. “Body, be healed! By the stripes of Jesus, I was healed!” (1 Peter 2:24). Everything we speak over our lives should sound just like God - because we speak His Word! Delegated authority sounds just like the head, and it is operational over the area that has been entrusted to us. Today, enforce kingdom justice over your life and those you have influence over, by confidently speaking God’s Word.
