Colossians 3:23 (AMPC), “Whatever may be your task, work at it heartily (from the soul), as [something done] for the Lord and not for men,”

The new life we have in Christ is more than just a change of identity in our spirit-man.  It’s seeing this identity transforming every area of our lives. Paul taught how the change of the inward man of the heart, must be carried out in the way we live our everyday lives.  When we serve others, we serve them as if we are serving God Himself.  There is coming a day, sooner than you may realise, where each of us will stand before the Lord, giving account for every thought, word, and deed.  Now here’s the part to take note of.  The greatest gift God could ever give to His church - is the gift of the indwelling Holy Spirit!  He made a way for us to live this life through the influence of His Holy Spirit!  In other words, when we take the time and effort to fellowship with the Holy Spirit in prayer and the Word - He causes our thoughts to align with His Own! When this happens, we immediately recognize a thought that is contrary to His will and character.  Then, we immediately refuse to entertain that thought and replace it with one that aligns with God’s Word instead. The measure to which we have become skilled in this seemingly small exercise is what we will be judged on.  This simple decision of aligning thoughts with God’s follows through to the words we speak and the motive and way we do everything.  If it’s all done through the influence of and obedience to the Holy Spirit, it’s seen as great value to the Lord.  Paul tells us to spend more time living from the perspective of eternity. Here, we may serve each other, but we are to serve with our Heavenly Father in mind. When we constantly acknowledging His flow of peace and joy, life, wisdom, kindness and power flowing from His Spirit into ours - without limit - we gratefully understand we owe Him all of ourselves, all the time!  Praise God for the days we have left to daily yield to His Spirit and live fully for such a gloriously, wonderful God!
