Determined Faith

John 5:4 (AMPC), “For an angel of the Lord went down at appointed seasons into the pool and moved and stirred up the water; whoever then first, after the stirring up of the water, stepped in was cured of whatever disease with which he was afflicted.”

The Word of the Lord has the potential to produce every miracle it has promised in your life.  In order for this to happen it must produce a determined, unshakable faith. At the pool of Bethesda, many people suffering from infirmities would wait around the pool, hoping to find their way into it the moment the angel stirred the water. They believed, at that moment, they would be completely healed! Can you imagine hundreds of people, with ailments, scrambling to get in?  Only the one who had enough courage, stamina and sheer will to fight would get into the water at the precise time necessary to receive what they came there for.  There are times where what we simply know about God and His Word, isn’t enough to move us to receive what has been promised us. We must be willing to believe, without a shadow of doubt, that what God has promised is ours - even when the symptoms or circumstances appear contrary to that promise. We have to remain thinking, speaking, and acting in agreement with God’s Word. We must refuse to be intimidated by what we see or feel in the natural or be persuaded to shift on our conviction. This takes great courage, stamina and sheer determination! But if we will stand our ground in faith - constantly giving thanks and praise to God for already doing exactly what He has promised - those symptoms and circumstances will bow their knee and come in line with God’s Word! Jesus said whatever things we ask, when we believe that we receive, we WILL have them! We just need to have our faith outlast the stubbornness of whatever is opposing our breakthrough, to move and comply!
