Your Path of Blessing

1 Samuel 17: 38 – 39 (NLT): “Then Saul gave David his own armor—a bronze helmet and a coat of mail. David put it on, strapped the sword over it, and took a step or two to see what it was like, for he had never worn such things before. ‘I can’t go in these,’ he protested to Saul. ‘I’m not used to them.’  So David took them off again.”

Hear this today; God desires for you to thrive in your calling! What He has placed inside you, and the path He has set out for you to walk in, has been designed and purposed to cause you to thrive and flourish! However, something that will quickly hinder your calling is comparison. Comparison breeds doubt, frustration, and the feeling of inadequacy. God has set before us a wonderful plan that is unique and specific to each of us. When David got ready to defeat Goliath, he was offered the armour of King Saul.  He soon realised it didn’t fit and would only weigh and slow him down. He wouldn’t be able to defeat Goliath wearing someone else’s armour. Instead, he took it off and placed his full confidence in Who he personally knew the Lord to be. David faced the giant wearing what God had already given Him, the anointing and strategy he was already familiar with to bring this enemy down. If you live a life comparing your calling to the way others do ministry, you will never have the confidence and ability to overcome the challenges along the way.  As you draw near to the Lord, and learn directly from Him, you will be fully equipped to stand confidently against any enemy you face. Only do what God has called you to do. He will give you the boldness and power to fulfil your call with great success and a maturity to confidently know your identity in Him as He leads you on the path of goodness, purpose and blessing.
