Genesis 12:4 (NKJV): "So Abram departed as the Lord had spoken to him, and Lot went with him. And Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran."

God told Abram, "I am going to bless you". But Abram had to do something first before he could receive the blessing: he had to obey God by leaving his father's house and following Him to a distant place. The Bible leads us to assume Abram didn't hesitate to obey. He simply departed without negotiating with God. He acted promptly! When it comes to obeying God, delayed action is evidence of doubt, which results in us asking, "What would have happened if I acted immediately?" instead of declaring, "Even if there's opposition, victory is imminent!" That's because the moment the instruction is received, it's always accompanied with the gift of faith and overwhelming peace and joy! That's why obedience must be immediate - strike while the iron is hot - before the devil, and those who haven't heard from God, talk you out of it. Prompt faith is always validated by our action. Practice active faith that's marked by immediate obedience and results in no regrets!
