True Humility

Philippians 2:9 (KJV): "Wherefore God also hath highly exalted Him, and given Him a name which is above every name..."

Jesus' absolute humility resulted in His absolute exaltation. The Bible says He demonstrated His humility by taking on the form of a human and being obedient, even to the point of death on the cross. The greatest man that walked this earth humbled Himself to death for the sake of love. In His humility, He was fully submitted to His Father in obedience and fully committed to His creation - us. What a powerful example for us to live by! James 4:10 tells us that if we humble ourselves in the Presence of God, He will exalt us. What does it mean to humble ourselves? We are to be fully submitted to the Father, by being obedient to His Word, and fully committed to showing His love to others. This was the secret to success for Jesus - this is why He now possesses the Name that is above every other! When we model our lives according to His by humbling ourselves the way He did, we will be effective in conquering feats by that powerful Name, Jesus Christ. Even more compelling is that we don't do this by our own strength. Just as Jesus walked full of and controlled by the Holy Spirit, we must too. He enables and empowers us to do what cannot be done by human wisdom or strength. So, humble yourself by submitting to God, and committing to love others. This gives you victory over the devil and a life overflowing with God's abundant peace and joy!
