2 Kings 7:2 (NLT): "The officer assisting the king said to the man of God, 'that couldn't happen even if the Lord opened the windows of heaven!' But Elisha replied, 'You will see it happen with your own eyes, but you won't be able to eat any of it!'"
Elisha, the prophet of the Lord, had just announced that within 24 hours the Israelites would experience a supernatural turnaround. Yet, one of those in close proximity to the king challenged this word and even went so far as to mock God saying, "Even if the Lord opened the windows of heaven, this cannot happen!" Having the privilege of hindsight, we know the rest of the story. We know the Israelites did experience an absolutely impossible situation supernaturally turnaround in just 24 hours. The officer who responded in unbelief saw the turnaround, but died before partaking of it. This story teaches us three vitally important lessons: 1) Keep your confession in check. 2) Don't despise prophecy. 3) The only response to a word from the Lord is faith! While everything must respond to words of faith, our words of faith must be our response to God. As you choose to respond to God's promises to you by faith, may you both see and partake of the riches of His glory, as He turns every one of your situations, that don't align with His word, around. In Jesus' Name!
