Luke 12:15 (TPT): "Speaking to the people, Jesus continued, "Be alert and guard your heart from greed and from always wishing for what you don't have. For your life can never be measured by the amount of things you possess.";
"Life is not measured by how much you own"(NLT). Watch out for the lie that happiness lies in what you don't yet have. God is the God of more than enough. He certainly wants you to live in abundance to the point where you have more than enough to meet your needs and the needs of others. Just the same, He is the source of true joy; and it's in Him that we can find true joy (John 15:11; John 17:13) - irrespective of what we have or do not have. We have the most advantageous union that could ever exist in Christ Jesus - the One who completes us, and fills us with Himself! Christ is enough, and in Him we have been made complete (Colossians 2:10). If any earthly treasure begins to attach to our sense of self-worth, identity, or sense of fulfilment - the lack thereof will only result in us feeling less-than - which is not at all the truth of who we are in the Lord. When we choose to delight ourselves in the Lord alone, is when He fulfils every desire of our hearts - that includes material blessings. Today, realise that you are sufficient, through His sufficiency (Philippians 4:13, AMPC).
