The Curse of Offense

Proverbs 17:9 (NLT): "Love prospers when a fault is forgiven, but dwelling on it separates close friends."

Offense is a tactic of the enemy to prevent us from seeing the truth of a matter while it entraps us in disappointment. Molehills can become mountains when they are not confronted the moment we feel the pain of offense taking root in our hearts. We can become so overwhelmed by our disappointment that we don't believe we have the strength or ability to forgive. The truth is, we are new creations in Christ Jesus and the Holy Spirit empowers us to put the flesh that is ruled by feelings and emotions, in submission to our spirit. We have the ability to choose the right way, the Godly way, and step right out of the trap of offense that only leads to bitterness, misery and spiritual death. It is unity that demands the blessing of God in our lives, and His unconditional love has the power to cover a multitude of wrongdoings. Take courage today as you draw from the Holy Spirit's power inside you, and choose to forgive and walk in love towards those who have wronged you. It's time to walk free of offense! Come out from under the curse it brings, and live in the flow of life and blessing you were redeemed to walk in.
