Godly Discernment

Tuesday, 13 July 2021 | Reading taken from Colossians 1:9 (NKJV)

Colossians 1:9 (NKJV): "For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that you might be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding..."

It's not enough to just read and agree with God's Word, we need to understand it and have it come alive in our hearts until it becomes what we truly believe. That's because we think, speak, and live out of the conviction of our hearts. Every truth we find from God's Word that affects us personally becomes life and peace to us when we choose to embrace it. That's when the Holy Spirit makes it come alive in our hearts, and it affects the way we live. In this process, the Holy Spirit gently shows us what we have to adjust in our lives in order for our thoughts, attitudes, words and actions to come in line with the practical wisdom in His Word. Each simple act of willing obedience sets us up for significant blessing and increase. The joy of seeing the word we obey work favour in our lives makes us trust it and fall in love with its ways. Pretty soon we become more and more receptive, teachable and pliable to the will of God.& Just like Jesus, with the Word actively working in us, we become filled with Godly knowledge and discernment, which kept Him full of peace and joy as He lived in the centre of His Father's will!
