Mark 12:10 (NLT): "Didn't you ever read this in the Scriptures? 'The stone that the builders rejected has now become the cornerstone.'"

In ancient Israel, people built their homes out of stone. Setting the foundations for the home was essential. They would begin by carving stone into a block with perfect ninety-degree angles. They would set that stone in place and measure everything off it. This ensured the building would be strong, secure, and lasting. In life, it's very easy to be caught up in great ideas that seem worthy of our time and attention. However, we need to constantly review whether what we commit ourselves to lines up with God's will for our lives. The only way to do this is by making our intimate time with the Lord and His Word our priority. Unless we build with Jesus as the foundation of all we do, our ventures can easily crumble. With the Word as our baseline and cornerstone, everything we do in life will be lasting and impactful.
