Don't Settle for the Scraps

Psalm 23:5 (NLT):"You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You honour me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings."

Matthew 15 speaks about a Phoenician woman whose daughter was possessed by an evil spirit. She was so desperate for Jesus to deliver her daughter, that she persistently begged Jesus to help the girl. Being a Gentile, she had no legal right to desire the blessing which belonged to the Jews, but her need exceeded her desire to protect her reputation and pride. She would be satisfied with the 'scraps' that fell off the table. She perceived the true identity of Jesus and knew that even the residue of His Glory would be enough to permanently deliver her child. Because of her faith Jesus had compassion and the child was made whole. Today, you and I have full access to the throne room of God. He has promised us so much more than the residue of His glory. We don't have to settle for less than God's very best. We are invited to dine with Him as guests of honour, to be anointed by His supernatural power and see the never ending supply of His blessing pour in and through our lives. Receive it by faith, and you will see the fullness of God's glory manifest in every area of your life.
