Giving Is Living

Acts 20:35 (NKJV): "I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, "It is more blessed to give than to receive."

In the Word, God's principle of giving is always associated with experiencing the fullness of joy for both the giver and the one receiving the gift. That's because giving in the Kingdom of God is always motivated by love and the joy of seeing others blessed. God is certainly the greatest example of this kind of giving. He willingly gave His only begotten Son to die a horrible death to make a way for mankind to be reconciled to Himself. When Jesus walked this earth, He demonstrated the very same selfless love and constantly poured Himself out, even to death, for the joy that was set before Him. He was motivated by pure love and joy, expecting to see those who would receive Him absolutely blessed. Heart motive is the greatest factor in the Kingdom of God! When we give without the selfless joy of being a blessing, we aren't giving with the heart of the Father. As a result, our giving won't yield what it was intended to yield. Let love, and the joy to be a blessing, be the motive of your heart as you give; and you will not have room enough to contain the harvest it brings!
