Genesis 18:14 (NLT): "Is anything too hard for the Lord? I will return about this time next year, and Sarah will have a son."

Just the idea of Sarah giving birth to a son was absurd. She was barren and her body well past the age of bearing children. What did she and Abraham have to hold onto when in the natural, producing an heir was utterly impossible? They had a word from the Lord, that's what! When the Holy Spirit echoes a promise from His Word inside our hearts, it explodes into a sure hope that never fades. This is exactly what happened for Abraham and Sarah that day. Yes, years prior, Abraham told Sarah what the Lord had promised them. Even though Abraham had never wavered in his faith, it wasn't so for Sarah. But now, she heard first-hand the promise of a son, from God's Own mouth. Her immediate reaction was to laugh out loud...But when the Lord confronted her unbelief, there was no mistaking it! The promise she had heard from Abraham all those years ago sprang back to life for her the moment she heard it for herself. Don't just ride on other people's faith. Ask the Holy Spirit to make His promises real to your own heart; when He does, there'll be no stopping your miracle from becoming your reality!
