God's Word Never Disappoints

Luke 5:5 (NKJV): "But Simon answered and said to Him, "'Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.'"

Peter and his companions were accomplished, fishermen. They had been working hard at trying to get a catch-all night. Much to their disappointment, their efforts failed to produce one fish, let alone a net full. They finally gave up and were headed home when Jesus told them to try one more time. Peter could've easily waved off Jesus' command. After all, he was the professional fisherman here; Jesus was a spiritual teacher, what did He know about fishing? But Peter had been around the master long enough to know He was extraordinary, and obeying Him always brought about supernatural results... Which is exactly what happened. Their next catch yielded a net-breaking multitude of fish that almost sank their boats! Nothing about Jesus has changed. Even at the brink of us giving up, His Word will always produce exactly what He promises. Never stop trusting in God’s Word – it will never disappoint!
