Who Are You?

1 John 3:1 (NLT): "See how very much our Father loves us, for He calls us His children, and that is what we are! But the people who belong to this world don't recognize that we are God's children because they don't know Him."

So many people try to find their place in this world by comparing themselves to others and trying to conform to their ways, trying their best to fit in, all because they long to belong. Since we have received the fullness of Jesus, and His Spirit has become one with our spirits (1 Corinthians 6:17); we have a new identity in Him. We belong to God. Now we have to conform to His kingdom way of life, which is: righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost. The Apostle Paul highlights this in Romans 12:2, urging us not to be conformed to the world and follow after its ways, but to rather allow God to transform us through His Spirit and His Word - changing the way we think. When we see God, ourselves and others through the perspective of the Word, change comes. We begin to speak and act as people who belong to God. We begin to live with passion and purpose, full of God's love, peace, and joy. It's time to live in a way that everyone can see that this is who we are in this world!
