Choose Hope

Romans 4:18 (NLT): "Even when there was no reason for hope, Abraham kept hoping-believing that he would become the father of many nations. For God had said to him, "That's how many descendants you will have!"

In this life every person must make a choice to either believe God and His Word, or believe man and his opinions that are based on natural assumptions. Even when there was no natural reason for him to hope, Abraham chose to believe God and trust His Word. The Bible says he kept hoping. Spiritual hope is very different to natural hope. While natural hope is not definitive, spiritual hope is having a clear mental picture of what has been promised. It keeps that picture in the forefront of our minds as a constant reminder and anchor to hold onto - until it becomes our reality. In the natural, Abraham's body was old and Sarah's womb was barren, but he chose to place his hope in being the father of many nations. Abraham's hope came from believing what God said, in spite of what he saw in the natural. Each day we need to make the choice to either believe in what we see and hear in the natural, or believe God and His Word. Regardless of all natural opposition, when we choose hope, we will step into all God has promised us.
