The Company You Keep

1 Corinthians 15:33 (AMPC): "Do not be so deceived and misled! Evil companionships (communion, associations) corrupt and deprave good manners and morals and character."

Keeping company with people going in a different direction to you will cause you to lose your sense of direction and compromise your destiny. The Bible warns us that bad company corrupts good character; which means while being courteous, compassionate, and caring towards all people, we must be purposeful concerning the relationships we pursue. Make sure the friends you choose have a passion for following after God and putting His Word first place in their lives. They will inspire you to a good, full life in Christ, while those who readily compromise will make going into sin an easy choice. While you witness to others, keep those who are strong in the Lord close to you, and remain accountable to each other. Confiding in people who don't agree with your principles, or don't understand your choices for righteousness, will continuously sow seeds of doubt and make light of issues that are God's heart for you. Things like tithing, holiness, praying in the Holy Ghost, and walking in love and forgiveness, are essential for us moving forward in God. We win in life deciding to keep company with friends who make God's ways their own.
