A Hope that Never Disappoints

Isaiah 49:23 (NIV): “…Then you will know that I am the LORD; those who hope in me will not be disappointed.”

The word hope means an earnest expectation. The Bible says God is faithful and utterly dependable, and we will never be disappointed in placing our full, earnest expectation in Him! That means we can place our full trust and confidence and hope in His Word too. Especially since Numbers 23:19 says, “God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change his mind.”  There may be times we feel our hope is crushed, when circumstances don’t pan out the way we were expecting them to. If you ever feel this way, remember that circumstances are always subject to change; but the constant, stable, and unwavering nature of God never will. He will always be for you, and completely faithful to honour His Word concerning you. So don’t let a setback in your circumstances leave you feeling desperate and hopeless - place your trust in your faithful, steadfast and good God. He has promised to never abandon or leave you helpless. As you place your hope in Him, expect Him to be exactly Who He says He is to you.
