Psalms 4:8 (AMPC): "In peace I will both lie down and sleep, for You, Lord, alone make me dwell in safety and confident trust."
How uplifting and reassuring are these words of David! There was nothing peaceful about the life he was living, or the circumstances he had to face. Yet, no matter how corrupt or unfair his adversary was, no matter how rough and intense the challenges seemed, his victory was assured when he placed his confident trust in the Lord. 1 John 4:4 tells us we have already overcome because we are of God, we are His children, and have His Spirit in us. So, you see, it doesn't matter what challenges you face, or the strength of your adversary; you've already overcome them all. In Christ, we have peace over crises, peace in the face of adversity. This peace guards our hearts and minds from every fiery dart of the enemy as we keep our focus on the Lord and His Word. Today, decide to walk empowered by the Word and the power of the Holy Spirit. Let His peace hold you in the light of your victory enabling you to rule and reign over all circumstances!
