True Worship

John 4:24 (KJV): "God is a Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth."

We were created to worship God. Our reborn natures have been fashioned and designed in a way that enables us to express our worship to Him. This is not a forced, superficial worship based on fear. It is pure and sincere in every way. It flows from the core of our beings into every thought, attitude and action. Worship is not confined to singing a song; it is a lifestyle. Our Heavenly Father is Spirit, and no flesh is glorified in His presence. So each time we allow our spirits to influence and override our flesh, we worship the Lord. A moment by moment choice to surrender our thoughts, emotions and will to Him and His ways is worship that is acceptable and pure to Him. Even realising we cannot do this sufficiently in our own strength is a form of worship, as we acknowledge our total dependency on the Lord. In the Amplified Classic version, Isaiah 55:1 calls this worship "the self-surrender that accepts the blessing." Let your self-surrender to the Lord be your true worship today.
