Matthew 13:45-46 (NKJV): "Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking beautiful pearls, who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it."
Many things in this world have the potential to capture our full attention: wealth, careers, relationships, or fame, are but a few. No matter how exciting or enticing these things may be, not one compares to intimately knowing the Person of Jesus Christ. He truly is the pearl of great price. Once we have experienced His tangible presence and found ourselves caught up in the wonder and beauty of His face, He becomes our greatest desire. We begin to long to seek after Him with all our hearts. That's because He alone can truly satisfy us. The hope, peace and joy we experience from being with Him is enough for us to be willing to remove all hindrances obscuring our view of Him. Today, set time aside to sit at His feet and as you focus your full attention on Him; allow His Presence to become the centre of your life. The merchant saw how precious his pearl was compared to all others. He made a decision to forsake all and treasure the one as the most precious gift. When we seek the Lord more than the things of this world, we will find He more than rewards our diligence to do so.
